Long Miles Coffee Project

This coffee is produced by Long Miles Coffee, run by Ben & Kristy Carlson. They moved to Burundi in 2011 and observed both injustices and poor farming practices permeating the country's coffee industry. They also noted that roasteries worldwide struggled to obtain consistently good coffee from Burundi.

As an attempt to bring about positive change for both farmers and coffee roasters, Long Miles Coffee was born. Thanks to the hard work of their coffee scouts, who trained the farmers, Long Miles has managed to reverse the negative trend. Together, through planting shade trees, proper pruning, and natural fertilization, they have helped the small farms slowly recover. Now, the farmers know that the more they invest in their cultivation, the better price they can get for their coffee.
